From Bomba to Punta
From Bomba to Punta is an acrylic paint on canvas piece. It is inspired by the African and Arawakan traditions that have continued on through music and dance in the Caribbean and Latin America. This dancer in folkloric clothing keeps a tie to ancestral rhythms whether she is dancing bomba in Puerto Rico or punta in the Garifuna communities of the Antilles. The sound of the drum is all she needs.
